I am Jo Hamlyn, founder and principal designer at Disco Mountain.
I build websites that help people, brands and businesses look great, communicate clearly and grow online.
My work combines unique design, clear user experience, interactive functionality and smart SEO thinking to create websites that work hard for what you want to achieve. Whether you’re just starting out and need to build your brand from scratch or you want to develop and refine an existing one, I can help shape a visual identity that fits your vision and your audience. The aim is always the same: to build something that looks great, feels easy to use and helps you connect with the people you want to reach.
I lead every Disco Mountain project myself, from the first conversation through to launch. I also help clients think beyond the website itself – improving the marketing systems you already have, setting up new ones or shaping the way you build an audience and stay in touch with them. The website is often at the centre of that but, it works best when the wider digital strategy around it is working too. When a project needs extra expertise, I can integrate with your existing team or bring in trusted specialists across paid digital marketing, social media development and content creation to make sure everything works together seamlessly.
Every project starts with a conversation about you, your goals and what you want the website to achieve. I want to understand what makes you, your brand or your business different and how your website, overall brand and marketing strategy can support that.
From there I look at your market, your audience and the space you, your brand or your business occupies. I then put together a clear plan for design, build and search visibility. Software Experience
I have nearly 10 years of experience across website design, brand design and digital marketing. Over that time I’ve seen the internet quickly evolve and have worked with a wide range of design tools and content management systems.
Today I focus primarily on Shopify and WordPress, with expert-level experience in both. I use these platforms to build complete, scalable websites – handling everything from design and development through to third-party integrations – so you end up with a site that’s fully set up and ready to support your business.
